There is Grace and it doesn’t work with sin. The law itself was limited in scope. A written set of rules. We are no longer limited by the law but it serves its purpose to lead us to Christ. Read the whole of Galatians 3.
Let us read what Christ thinks about the law (Matthew 5:17-20)
Christ Fulfills the Law
17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Wow, seems these so called hypergrace preachers fail to read the Bible.
Breaking news – if you are not even going beyond those set of written rules (the Law), you are not ready for the Kingdom of God. God’s Grace and the Law are not mutually exclusive. We have been delivered from the curse of the law.
Note that the deliverance is not from the Law but the curse of the Law. Gal 3:13. Yes, we are no longer under the Law but something greater. Faith.
The Hypergrace preacher then says that Christ was not dead and risen when he made that teaching.
People will defend whatever they want to believe even in the most glaring situation. Now let’s read from Apostle Paul (Galatians 5:13-15):
13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”[b]15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
All the law is fulfilled in one scripture – Wow. And if you are not loving your neighbor as yourself, you are not of Christ. And that love will chase you far from all the sinful lust of the flesh that we struggle with as humans.
The wonderful Apostle went on to say more in Ephesians 5:1-7 – note that the title is “Walk in Love”.
5 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know,[a] that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
The things you consider as law are things that Apostle Paul, who rightly taught the concept of grace that you are now bastardizing taught as things that will prevent us from inheriting the Kingdom of God.
The curses of the law are sin, death, ill health etc.
The man or woman living under the Grace is one living in Christ. And when you live in Christ, things like sin just become very irritating to you. As you grow in Christ, you become more matured and abhor things that might have seemed normal before but don’t glorify God.
Now we are guided by faith and not the law. Faith is a function of God’s will and that is the word of God. If you are using the end of the law as a justification for ‘anyhowness‘, then you are deceiving yourself.
You actually have more responsibilities in Faith. Faith is what makes you know that Christ is all. It is the reason you know that it is forbidden to steal in order to become rich. It is what makes you wait on God instead of rushing to sleep with every person that decides to date you. Faith is why we don’t pay bribe to achieve stuff because we know God will sort us out in due time. If it is not in the Word of God, it is not Faith!
In the last days, many will deceive and be deceived but we have the responsibility to keep sharing the truth and the example that Jesus Christ laid down must be shared. May the Word of God continue illuminating us in Jesus name. Amen.
